Small spruce snippets move slowly in a grand metal tin.
A sound that remains to be naturally, the movement seams to be organically but all comes from a vibrating plastic egg in the middle of the snippets.
The structure of naturaleza viva: A approximately 30 cm high metal tin is half filed with spruce snippets. In the middle of the snippets is a so called vibroegg. The intensity of vibrating is adjustable, so you can adjust the movment of the egg to the snippets.
The sound of this sculpture is very silent, and the movement of the snippets is also very slow. So, the visitants have to look twice to find out the origin of the sound they hear. The snippets seem to be small animals that crawl in the tin. In the first moment, it looks like a very organic sculpture. But after a while, you can recognize, that the movement and the sound is too constantly to be organic. Because, the plastic egg is invisible, the visitors leave the exhibition without to know what exactly they saw.
The name naturaleza viva is a play on words in spanisch. „Still live“ in spanisch is "naturalza muerta" what actually means „still dead“
